The Joplin Area Ad Club was formed in November 1983 to improve the overall image of the advertising-marketing industry in the region and to serve as a professional organization for those employed in the field. The Joplin Area Advertising Federation is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The national AAF organization consists of 15 districts. The Joplin club is a part of the Ninth District, which includes clubs in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Regular members of the Joplin Area Advertising Federation are automatically entitled to all rights and benefits of AAF membership.

Scholarships provided by The JAAF:
The Joplin Area Advertising Federation Scholarship is offered for students majoring in a degree program that relates to the advertising field. Scholarships are given to students at both MSSU and PSU currently $1,200.00 per school with the opportunity offered to Crowder College. Also, $250 given each to 1 adult student (in the Fall) and 1 graduating Senior (in the Spring) from the Franklin Technology Center’s Graphic Design/Printing Class. These scholarships are based on performance, recommendations, financial need, and the student’s intention to pursue a career in the Advertising/Marketing, Communications or Graphics fields and awarded
by the Education Committee.
